Chionanthus virginicus

Chionanthus virginicus L., Sp. Pl.: 8 (1753). [HPI :III].

Chionanthusangustifolius Raf.  New Fl. 3: 88 (1838).

Deciduous tree. Leaves opposite, Petiolate, lanceolate. Inflorescence drooping panicle. Flower bisexual, fringe like creamy white petal, showy, having linear petal;Stamensinserted. Fruit ovoid, purple, drupe.

Flowering: May to June.

Fruiting:June-Aug (Late summer.)

Part used:Rhizome.
